The Rock Song - The Sea The Sun 2006 10 30
Looks like this is a little group that Peter Holmstrom of Portland, OR. Ptryy slick sound, so I'm hoping they release more than just these few demo songs.
Don't Listen To The Radio - The Vines 2006 10 23
I meant to put this track up a long time ago, in fact this was one of my favorite tracks all summer. I also follow the titles directions at all times, never listen to the radio!
Paradise - The Cons 2006 10 20
Contemporary folk group from San Fransisco. They just released a self-titled EP with several songs that I like. If you get the chance, listen to the song "Drug".
Even Rats - The SLIP 2006 10 17
Group I found on Filter Mag. They have them listed as a group to watch, so I will. It just so happens I like thhis single, apparently the full album will be out in Novermber.
Pace - Sophia 2006 10 16
Cool track found at Dudical. Never heard of these guys before, but they are a tiny UK indie band. Keep your eye on them.
The Underpass - Hey Champ 2006 10 11
Group that I acually found on MySpace. Based out of Chicago and looks as if they have released a few albums, but I think they are still on an Indie label. Anyway, cool track - check it out.
Play it for Today - The Legends 2006 09 29
The second album that I have listened to from this group. I have to say that so far I think the last album is better, but there are still some good tracks on this one.
One Man Wrecking Machine - Guster 2006 09 29
This is a fun indie rock group that has been around for a while. They are new to me and really liking their newest album, this is my favorite track so far.
My World - Sick Puppies 2006 09 28
This Australian indie group has a very contemporary rock sound, it's a solid sounding group and worth a listen. Reminds me of that cool 90's rock.
The New e Blues - The Western States Motel 2006 09 25Really loving this group, not sure how to quickly describe their style, but I absolutly love it. Here is a quote from the Rock Insider: The Western States Motel actually began as a recording entity, creating soundtracks short films, documentaries, and various vhs camcorder retrospectives. Most noteworthy is their work on "FOLSOM, CASH AND THE COMEBACK," which examines Johnny Cash's 1968 concert at Folsom Prison. You can find it on the "WALK THE LINE" special edition dvd. A group I found on the soundtrack from The Last Kiss. Sounds very similar to either Heatmisr or Elliot Smith as a soloist, I guess thats why I like it so much.
These Photographs - Joshua Radin 2006 09 18
This song is kind of in the same vein as Jack Johnson, Jose Gonzales, Ben Harper and Jon Mayer. Soft folk ditty that has a unique sound.
Powerlines - The Western States Motel 2006 09 16
Accidentally came across this band on Rock Insider. Cool sound that reminds me The Shins, who I love. They have a few good tracks so be sure to look them up. Another track I like is "Southwest Planes 1".
Paperweight - Joshua Radin And Schuyler Fisk 2006 09 14
I guess I'm in a bit of a mellow mood because these last songs all sound quite similar and calm. Another couple of artists I haven't heard of, they have a sleek sound.
Ride - Cary Brothers 2006 09 14
Slick soft rock track that sounds like a "SOUND Team/The Decemberists/The Legends" amalgamation. I think Cary Brothers is an unsigned group, but this is the kind of track that will land a record deal, if it hasn't already.
Colorguard - Division Day 2006 09 14
Easy to listen to soft rock song, again found at Finger Tip. I think this song will get popular through the use of movie soundtracks this fall and winter. Kind of remind me of Coldplay, except of course, these guys are good.
This Life - La Rocca 2006 09 14
A pretty pop oriented sounding song, but I still enjoy it as it's easy to listen to and I think most people would agree.
Walking the Plank - Apollo Up! 2006 09 14
Never heard of this group before, but I found this song on Finger Tip and I quite like it. This is one to listen to in the car and get caught sining along, whilst banging the dashboard.
